Best version of Castle firmware?
« on: September 05, 2013, 09:49:11 PM »
I am using version 3.27.0. I know there are newer releases but I have heard of problems with them. What is the "best" version of Castle firmware to use for our purposes?

Mike,
I spoke with Castle yesterday about a problem I was having with my Phoenix 35 and they recommended going to at least 4.06 which I believe is the latest clean version for the Phoenix ESC's. They indicated that some of the additional beta fixes apply to helicopter and we would not see any benefits.

Best,      DennisT

Dennis,

I am programming my Ice Lite 50 for my new Legacy 40. Is v4.06 still the valid version to use. I seen 4 additional Beta versions on the Castle website.
My Ice Lite 50 is currently running v3.27.
Please advise.

Will DeMauro is the best source for Castle Creations firmware information.

Bob,

I started the Legacy 40 last year during my Chemo and radiation treatments.

I got a Strega as my kit. Going to install Wesley Dick's new split flap design on the Strega. He finished 5th in Expert with his Velvet at Brodak's. Reviewed design with Wes at the Fly-In and I hope the new design will help me with a over compensation issue
I have. I over control coming out of my maneuvers.

So, is 4.06 the latest AND the greatest? Latest is not always the greatest, as Windows 8 users have learned. Does Will have an opinion on firmware for our CLPA purposes? I have no operational problems I can detect with version 3.27.0 but there may be stuff in there that isn't obvious to non engineers. Like me.

Mike, go to the CC website and check out their download page.  This isn't Windows.
