At Wrentham, John Passalaqua gave me an RSM 10-6 prop to try on my Ares.  Well as soon as i took off, I new the prop was going to be good, it pulled more than the top-flite prop I was originally using, and that plane locked more on the corners.  RSM is going to have a future customer for props in the future!!!

I second that...it is the only prop I use on my OS-S35 powered planes. 8)

One more happy customer; Eric suggested we try the RSM 12/5.5 prop on a ST 60 ship...very nice control, great engine run.  Never would have thought of trying such a prop on a ST 60!

Trying the RSM 12-5.5 prop on an ST 60?  Maybe I should get grandpa to try that on his P-40 since he keeps complaining about the pull.  I told him to order these props as soon as the motor quit, well he told ME to order it LOL.

You folks are talking about a 12 X 5.5 RSM prop? All I see in his "catalog" is a 10 X 6 and a 11 X 6. I'd like to see more sizes, but I don't. What am I missing?

I decided to put the Top-Flite prop back on and here's why:  at 9000 RPM, the motor was really struggling to get through the square 8, as well as the plane.  I put the Top-Flite prop back on it and the problem went away.  Now the plane flies faster at 8800 RPM and the engine isn't laboring in the square 8.

Matt...Try clipping the RSM prop down 1/4" and try it again. It's always a good idea to re-try what once worked, for a "reality check" (per Pete Peterson). Try to replicate the original tip shape & don't forget to rebalance.  H^^ Steve

It would be a insterting test. two foot shorter lines and let the enginge unload with the RSM just to see what would happen. Might put the engine back in a sweet spot.

Are you still talking about your Aries with the OS 35S ?

Yeah.  On Tuesday, I got one of the best motor runs I've got with that motor this year, running at 8800RPM, temps were in the mid to upper 50s, and broke at just the right time.  I may try that prop again if it colder out since the motor would make more power due to the colder air.
