Which tank?

Well I got my Flite Streak built and every thing done before paint and ran into a problem. I have an OS Max FP .15 to go on it with the regular tubular muffler with a pressure fitting on it. Problem is I was going to run a Perfect 2 1/3 oz tank on it. The triangular kind, with fitting for fuel to venturi on the side, fitting on top for filling, and fitting on bottom for over flow.  What goes where? Or do I just need to get a plastic tank with all the regular fittings? Sorry, I'm new and baffled at this. If any one can help with a diagram or pic I sure would appreciate it. Thanks Rod Lamer ???

My choice would be the 3 oz. Tettra Bubbleless tank from www.centralhobbies.com - - Only one line (out the front). It's sort of a hi-tech balloon tank . . .

To use what you have now either run it without muffler pressur ( worked for years before we all had mufflers),

or run the muffler pressure line to the bottom vent and plug the top one with a piece of fuel tubing with a stubby bolt in it.  Pull the muffler line off when fueling through the top vent,this keeps you from filling the muffler / engine with fuel from the overflow when the tank is full.

A Hayes 2 oz plastic tank also works prtty good. I would check the run time before filling it and flying- on 2 oz the .15 FP may run quite awhile.

Thanks Bill, I have a 1.5 plastic tank on my break-in stand but, and I hope I don' offend anyone, I think a plastic tank kinda looks cheap with all those rubber bands. If it were not for the rubber bands, using something else to hold it to the fuse would be more pleasing to the eye. Ok about the perfect tank, your suggestion is what I thought I should do I just didn't know if it would work. I'm gonna solder the tabs on today, sand them down to look nice, and use the Perfect tank. Thanks guys I really appreciate the help I get on here!    Rod y1

I wouldn't fly a Perfect tank without popping the back off and taking a look inside.  You may be amazed at where the tubes go.  Don't use a bolt in your plug line as it will leak around the threads. A BB or something solid is much better.  If you fill the tank through the muffler line, put the plug on before reattaching the muffler line.  Else you may start fuel siphoning into the muffler.  Been there, done that!

For the plug I'm gonna use a piece of fuel tubing and a fuel line plug, I already have these. I also have plugs that will go right over the outlet. Thank you all! It sure is nice to be able to get help when I need it. You guys are the best! Rod Lamer y1

I usually take old machine screws that the threads are messed up on and insert the head of it into the tubing plug.  DOC Holliday

I'm gonna start with a 1oz. Perfect to learn on(my nerves will get better with experience), and then progress to a 2 1/3 perfect once I get more familiar with the plane. I know someone is bound to tell me what I was thinking...put the bigger tank on first and just put how much fuel you want to run.  ~> n~
