Hi:
I got the ASP .61 engine from a friend of mine and discovered that the bearings were rusted into two masses of rust.
I replaced the bearings with new ones, $15.00,and cleaned all of the burned on carbon from the piston, sleeve and head and reassembled it. The engine is an ABC type that has a great p&c fit. Overall, the fit and finish looked quite good. I will test it today on to see if it is as good as it looks. I will post the results here. I have not weighed it but it does appear to be quite heavy. What am I going to do with this beast? Lol
Motorman, you said the cranks were made from a soft steel. Did you do any testing to determine this? If so what methods did you use?
Be well,
