Title: Video Ringmaster S1 with Enya SS30
Post by: Martin Quartim on July 23, 2011, 04:40:12 PM

Here is a video of my Ringmaster S1 with an Enya SS30. This is a good choice to power a .35 size model

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUvJ7yJH95k

It is a bit fast, but that is how I like to fly my Ringmaster S1

Engine setup is
7.0mm venturi
10% Nitro 25% Oil
APC 10.5x4.5
Total Engine weight with muffler is 8.5oz (w/o 6.9Oz)
Launch RPM about 10300rpms.

Although it looks fast, when maneuvering it is not so bad. See how it hold the speed coming down the V8.

Hope you will enjoy it.

Martin,

Nice job flying that Ringmaster!  It appears your set up is a good one for you.  It does seem a little fast, especially for an old guy like me but obviously not a problem for you.  As near as I could tell from the video, you were flying about four second laps?  I know the thin airfoil on Rings need some speed. I have a Ringmaster with an Enya SS .25 on it which is about right for me.  I think it flies five second laps? ( Haven't flow it in quite awhile.)

What length lines and what prop are you using?

Thanks for posting the video.

Regards,

Joe

Thx Joe!

Laps are around 4.2s and I am using 59' lines.

I think this engine is very special for c/l because it does not charge when maneuvering and it keeps the speed pretty well, like a pipe or 4S engine.
Also, what is really impressive is how this combo perform under heavy winds.

Nice flying Martin, and I especially like the last of the outside loops at about 1:20!

It seemed like you were flying low due to the false horizon provided by the hill, and you must have agreed due to the higher pullout in the third loop - an "Oh My God" moment?

Cheers mate. :)

Thanks Chris,

If you observe my level flight I think you see that the bottoms of the outside loops were about right, the third one I miss it by a great deal :)

Cheers mate!
