Title: Veco 45 question
Post by: Randy Powell on January 02, 2008, 08:56:52 PM
Just a quick question for you collector types out there. Can you tell me the weight of a Veco 45 with needle? I'm starting a new classic plane and it originally had a Veco 45. I need to see how much, if any I may need to slice off the nose if the Veco is substantially lighter than the engine I'm planning to use.

Thanks for any information.

Randy, I don't know the weight but I bet the wing of the Supersonic Stunter will carry it just fine??????

H i Randy,

I didn't see this last night.  I have one in C/L set up and I will weigh it tonight if no one comes up with the answer before then.  Heavier than a ST G51 and a PA 51, IIRC.

I agree with the 12.  Mine came in at 11.9.

That's good news. The Magnum I have weighs 11.5. Probably why the nose is so outrageously long. There is a LOT of material behind the CG.
