Is it ok to "store" planes sitting on their nose? Thought I read somewhere it could damage the front bearing.

yes many times the bearing seal is destroyed by sitting on the nose, the neoprene the seals are made of will warp/ dissolve/swell , or all the above. Sometimes I see hardened oil locking up the bearing, that happens mostly with castor
