Title: V-51 Super Tigre
Post by: Gary Anderson on December 08, 2011, 09:04:45 PM
Hi guys,
I purchased this engine cause it looks the same as my V-60 Super Tigre. I wrote Mr. Frank Bowman and he told me there is several different versions of this engine and said most where good stunt engines. I purchased it cause I wanted to see how she compares to the newer square head 51 Super Tigre. One thing is for sure the case is larger on the V 51 than the Square Head 51. I'm wondering if the V 51 will run more like my V 60. The Square Head 51 is a strong engine that likes to run in a wet 2-cycle. I would think the SQ would have more power than the V 51. I sure don't remember anyone running the V 51. I would appreciate your input about this pretty little V 51????

Thank You
Gary

Hi Gary,

Your assumptions are pretty much right on.  The V-51 should run almost exactly like your .60.  Power is a bit more than the ST G.21 .46, but not as much as the small case V-.60.  The sq. head G.51 runs higher in its power curve so it will have a bit more power than the older .51.

Still they are great runners.
