Title: Tuned pipe questions
Post by: jim gilmore on July 06, 2009, 08:56:55 AM
Ok, I'm running the AP .09. I really do not want the little round muffler they have but was wondering how other engines with rear exhaust connect to a muffler. That lead me to wondering about tuned pipes. SO since the rear exhaust on the AP is a screw into fitting are the other rear exhause engine like this ?
Does anybody know enough about pipes/and engines to give me some info on this aspect of engines ?

Jim,

I'm not familiar with the engine you mentioned, but this link will show some of Randy Smith's goods.......
you will need to scroll down to the correct post to see the items.

There are adapters available that allow some side exhaust engines to run a pipe set-up.

Hello Jim Oliver,
The AP .09 is a rear exhaust engine. I was doing some reading online and it looks like the the OS 40 (i forgot what letter) uses the same thread. That muffler showes a little pipe/fitting the would bend my exhause 45 deg like I'm looking for.  But do you think there is a way to connect 2 together to make it come back to being straight ?

Jim,

I would suggest that you contact Randy Smith.  If he doesn't have anything that will solve your problem, he can probably make it........

www.aeroproduct.net  and he is in the Vendor's Section.
