Hello, I have been trying to find some light weight tube mufflers for LA engines, 40 and 46. I got an E mail for a Scott Dinger but have not got a response yet, its been a while. Anyone have another source? or is he even around? Maybe my E mail went to his junk folder?

Scott Dinger and Randy Smith were the only two after market tube mufflers that I know of. They both can be spotty on availability and sell out fast when they are. Scotty has a busy weld shop but ping him regularly and he will get back to you. Like the Pickers say, the time to buy 'em is when you see 'em!!
For a stock muffler, the Tower .40 muffler is lighter than the stock OS unit. The E3030, 843, and one other all are the same size but differ in weight.

Try to find an Enya M-251 . Almost as light as a Randy Smith tube muffler. I have had good results on La .46’s , Tower 40’s and Evo .36’s using them .
Enya may still have them in stock. Mine are swap meet specials . The small .25 size is too restrictive. SS .30 and SS.35 mufflers are the good ones .

Thank you gents!

Just looked at the Enya M 251. Looks good!

Jim, an alternative might be a side manifold or elbow and attach a four-stroke muffler or simply use a length of silicon pipe.
This gets the weight further aft if this is your goal.

Well I just received my Enya M-251 mufflers. Very nice! weight is 1.5 oz each. I filed and polished one down to 1.4 oz. Any way, I was wondering what to do with the pressure nipple? I usually dont run muffler pressure so leave it? or remove it and plug the hole with whatever thread size screw?

Just leave it. It won't affect anything, and if you decide to want to use pressure on an engine, it's already there.

A Fox 35 stunt muffler will fit and save you one ounce from the OS stock muffler.
