Hi Jamie
Looks like another OS45 FSR clone like the Magnum 45, ASP 45 , Thunder Tiger etc. I'm sure with a light weight muffler 6 mm venturi and low pitch (11.5x4) it would run real fine! It does need a good seal so as long as compression is fine it should be worth adapting to C/L Stunt.
Unless an all out racing or ducted fan engine you can normally adapt them fine to stunt , only have to watch the weight especially with factory mufflers but if you build tail heavy their is some good nose weight . ;)

a MEGATECH ! 40 . Yrs looks a bit like the Magnum 46 / 51 that were popular .
Think the OS theyre all piratyed from is the FS or SF .

Hi all.
Matt, it seems to me the same as my LEO 46, a chinesse copy of the OS 46 SF (the same for the 40), with true ABC piston liner assembly (bought 2 of them some years ago in Hobbiking at 36 USD each...... ~^ ~^ ~^
The LEO 28 btw is a good powerplant for Super Clown or Rigmaster type models.....
Reasonably well made, the worst part are the bearings, but this is easy to solve.
Almost impossible more for less..... ;D ;D ;D ;D
Kind regards.
Manuel.

I have two Tower Hobbies 40s set up for stunt, and both run beautifully.

The Leo/Brat 28 was one of the engines I tried in the "small engine" experiments and it is indeed completely usable for our purposes, and 35-sized profile models, using the formula. I think it liked the Tornado 10-4 and APC 10-3, but that was a long time ago. I know for certain that at least one National Champion started out with a Leo 28 on a UKey 35 (2006 Senior National Champion Paul Ferrell), because I think he ended up with my Leo 28 thrust washer, when his got dropped in the gravel and lost at the Alameda field.

Im undecided if I want to keep this Tower .46 for a stunt application or not. Not sure if its worth even fooling around with since I have a few .46LA's.
If anyone has experience running this engine Id like to hear some thoughts. The muffler it came with is huge!!!! Much bigfer than a stock .46la muffler. And the Tower.46 surely feels heavier than .46LA.

Think It'd be a 4 inch pitch motor, not a 6, anyway .

It's a bunch heavier. It's a ball bearing motor. I have 2 on RC planes and they are strong runners but I think too heavy for any .46 sized planes when you can use an LA. They do make tons of power though. One pulls my Kyosho Mustang at 85mph.

Yep it weighs 12oz!!! Ill keep it as trade bait for a old engine or something.

It is an excellent RC motor though.
