Title: Tower 40 prop
Post by: Bootlegger on November 30, 2014, 11:28:03 AM

Guy's I am running a stock Tower 40 engine with .272-.281 venturi on a 48 oz model, what would be a good prop size to start with?

The fuel will be 5 & 10 % nitro with 20-22% oil in equal amounts.

 Thanks for all suggestions...

Steve Helmick pushed me into the ThunderTiger 11x4.5 prop for the Tower 40 and 46 LA, and it seems to work very well for that sized plane.

Other props to try are the APC 11x4 and APC 11.5x4.  I don't know what else APC has to offer in similar sizes, 'cuz I like the TT!

I found the Supercool petal blade 11x5 to be my favorite.

I have a 10-6 Tiapan on mine.  Flies a modified Hanger 9 PT-19 nicely with 5.5 second laps on 62 foot lines.   Not enough clearance for 11-4.   The Tiapan has wider blades than most.
