Between the OS 46 LA and the Super Tigre G51 Ring, which engine gives more torque?

If this is related to your question about LA 46 limits, I think a much better question would be "what engine will work best with this plane", or perhaps "which planes will work best with each of these engines?"

The ST 51 probably generates more torque at peak power, because it's known to turn lower RPMs than the LA 46.  But torque (or, for that matter, peak attainable power) is not the whole story at all.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

At least the LAS version of the LA46 will work out of the box for stunt. I can't say the same for the ST51. I have an Italian ST51 that has me beat, it just won't hold a good stunt setting no matter what I try. By the way that is following the advice of people  here on the forums I am not the only one to have problems and no it is not the ring, that is well seated and gives good compression.

The backplate / O ring ? ? . Found Straight 80 / 20 fuels as good as any , if not better . Prime of Nitro Fuel for first flick start if its cool .
The Head Gaskets need increasing for nitro fuel , a couple extra ? ? . Id try the standard muffler if it fits the model , as the switch is good on that.
Cant see the tounge type helping it .

ANYWAY try the .46 on a 12 x 6 and see what happens .  :P . 51 will loaf around & pull a 70 oz. plane on one .
a 21 / 40 will swing one on straight fuel , but nearly doubles fuel consumption . 51s quite eco nom ical ,

WHY , Have you GOT One ! ?  VD~
