With the needle set somewhat rich, how much fuel will a ST G51 consume in 7 minutes? The last time I had one of these on a plane, the nose was too short for more than about 4.5oz and that wasn't enough to complete more than about 2/3rds of the pattern. Suggestions?

5 1/2 to 6 oz depending on the size of your venturi.

Listen to Busby. I use a 6 oz. tank, and I always used about 5 to 5 1/2 oz. in my USA-1 of 5% nitro fuel. With 10% nitro is was usually 5 1/2 or a touch more. This was with whatever size venturi Tom Lay put in it. This was a "new" G-51 not the old big case one like the V-60.
Of course, I don't like to fly very many laps after the pattern is done. ;)

Hi Guys,
My old Sig Magnum wich was powered by a ST51 and had a 6oz magnum tank would complete the pattern and have about 10 laps still under her belt. Sig Champion 5% was the fuel. That was four years ago.

I'm going to be running one of the newer Chinese/Italian hybrids on a Tutor II. I noticed the newer venturi isn't as nicely finished as the older Italian version, but I haven't measured them to see if there's a size difference.
The nose on the Tutor II isn't very long so that limits tank choice. I'm not a plastic clunk tank fan, so I guess that leaves me with building a tank for this application.

Don't make it any smaller than 5.5 ounces

Hey Big Bear!, how large a fuel tank do you use for your Magnum 36??

Hi Steve,
I think the Ares had a 4 1/2 oz. tank. It was the *skinny* Magnum style that fits in the less than 2" wide fuselage. Aaron *might* have been pulling some out of it. I would have to see if he remembers. ;D
