Title: tank size / Ringmaster
Post by: phil myers on February 22, 2011, 01:21:32 PM
I've posted this question on the TBOTR site also:Building my first Ringmaster S1 and found that I don't have the space for a 4oz clunk,  can't find a 3oz anywhere, would I be ok using 2oz? or do I go for a metal stunt tank and stop whinging. I'm not trying to do the pattern or any competition stuff, (still a beginner) a few loops and wingovers is where I'm at.. Thanks in advance . Phil     ps will be using OS 35s and a 10x5

H Phil,

Brodak (and others I am sure) have a "stubby" wedge stunt tank which is "deeper" and fit the limited area between the engine and wing.  They do NOT look like the old Veco "Profile" tanks which I never did really get to work right! LOL!!  No problems with run quality and you can get at least a 4 oz. tank in there of this style.  I have a few, and they are "life savers".  Come in uniflow (which I use) or standard vent.  I am sure someone will give a link or something to better explain these.  A 3 1/2oz is about the smallest I would go with using the OS .35S.
