Title: Tank Highth Question

How important is tank height set up on a standard clunk tank? That is, fill tube, overflow tube and fuel feed tube.  No muffler pressure or uniflow.

Hello Joe

It is very important if you want the engine  to run the same  inverted and right side up,  doesn't matter  what type or style tank you are using

Joe,

For a way to 'ground set' a decent tank height, use the term wig-wag in the search line at top right. Works, for sure, with hard tanks, and may help with your clunk...

Lou & Randy, thanks for your reply to my question.  I'll check the search for "wig-wag".

I am using 4 & 6 oz. Sullivan plastic tanks with a clunk and have aligned the outlet with the center of the venturi.  Seems to work well on both profile and built up planes for me.  I thought perhaps clunk set ups weren't as critical about tank highth as other systems, thus my curiosity and question.  I read an account of someone shimming their tank up the thickness of a sheet of notebook paper with the results being "dramatic."  I don't claim to know a lot about such things but that seems a bit "far fetched" to me.
