Title: Super Tigre Threads
Post by: Garf on March 11, 2006, 09:47:45 PM
Does anyone know the thread size used on the plug for the wrist pin access hole on the back of the case. I have one that the threads are messed up on and will need to be chased.

I don't know that thread spec, but if the threads are very much messed up, consider cleaning them and tapping for the next size you can find.

Means cutting a cap to fit, too, I guess....

Luck!

I pulled the pin plug out of a NIB ST G.21 .46 and measured it. Looks like 6mm x .8mm to me. My Starrett pocket chart says it's not a standard metric size.

This may be one of those situations where you have to compromise. Sometimes a tap is theoretically available, but the price is just out of line, like for the OS .15 prop nut ($32). A 1/4-28 would be the closest option.  :o Steve

Something told me it was going to be a non standard size. It figures.

0.8mm gives 31.75t.p.i. 1/4-32 is a real close match.
