Super Tigre S40 Ringed
« on: April 07, 2018, 12:46:57 PM »
Got this engine coming to me and would like to convert it.

Anyone ever ran this engine and have some good input about it?

Hi Jamie I ran the S40 ABC on a Genesis back in the late 80's. Lots of power but need that low pitch prop! Regards Gerald  #^

Hi Jamie Yes the Super Tigers were great quality engines. The S40 uses the same exhaust pattern as the 60 and the same intake too so you can use  ST60 after market stacks and venturis from Shutterman on Ebay or Randy here. I would start with a small venturi  like ST60 (.265) to control the run. Regards Gerald  H^^

What size venturi would you suggest if the "Sprinkler" nva set up is being employed? I have been trying to get an ST G21 .40 to give me a decent stunt run with no success what so ever! Sure would welcome any suggestions here for my help! Also wondering if the engine needs to have its blow down shortened.

Thanks!

Hello Phil The G21-40 I have has a bigger venturi and longer exhaust timing then my 46, there is a big visible difference seen in the exhaust port when looking at the liner.
I think this is a clue that it was not set up to run the same as the 46 (the 40 has a sprinkler venturi of .016)
Regards Gerald
