Hello all.
Iīm at tis time restoring two G21 46, and I want to change bearings. Do anyone knows the reference for ST 46 bearings? (Latest production models, with muffler mounts.
Another question, Iīm planning to use one of them in a 53 Oz 640 Sq in model.
What prop and gorund rpm would you recommend as a good starting point for this combo??
As allways, thanks very much for your help.
Regards.

Hi Maunel,
Boca Bearings has a product number, but I do not have it handy. I do not know of different bearings for the different series, I *think* the bearings did not change.
If you are using a "stock" style, sprinkler venturi, I go with a .181 hole. Also, 10%nitro, 22% oil, 1/2 and 1/2 fuel. Props can range from 11 1/2" to 12" and 5 -6 pitch. I have some AHM props that are 11 1/2-6 1/2 that work real well, but they are no longer available. 6 1/2 pitch is not out of the question. I do not know launch rpm, it is just na "cackle" on the ground.
53 oz. is a piece of cake for a ST 46!

Thanks Bill, very useful info.
Will probably try with 12-6 cut to 11 1/2 dia.... as a starting point.
Donīt know really if a good stock Tigre 46 could cope with more than 55 oz without losening that lovable 4-2-4.....
Regards and happy flights.

I had a 60oz magnum, the ST46 did just fine, like you said lovely 4-2-4
run.

Hi Manuel,
The ST 46 is one of my all time favorite engines! It is a sweet stunt engine. y1
I have seen them work well in planes up to ~60 oz. like Walter said, but they tend to get suspicious in poor conditions, but they do the job! It's the 4-2 break that does it. Even though it will not kick out the power of the "newer" engines, it has a very intelligent run. ;D
