Question: Does anyone have any info on the 1970's era (I thnk?) Super Tigre G .46 r/c Rear Inlet motors? I expect that they are some sort of hot setup for racing or performance flying use. All google does is take me to ebay sales. I was wonder if they compare to the famous stunt G-21 .46 at all, most likely not. Thanks for any info.

Not sure on the weight Motorman. G21-.46 is plain bearing or ball? The basic outline looks similar to me. I don’t have this motor, just stumbled acros it and wondered.

Thanks Motorman. I did an edit and put the G21-.46 picture in the opening post. Yeah, looks to be a beefer unit on the RV model as you suggested.

There's a review of the similar G40 RC at http://sceptreflight.com/Model%20Engine%20Tests/ST%20G.40%20RC.html

That is a G40 in the first picture, I still have tons of new parts for them, BIG in pylon racing back in the 70s
In The G21 series people did use the G21 40 rear intake, I have not seen a 46 in rear intake

It actually does appear to be a .46, based on not only what is stamped on it, but also counting fins on the case. One more than the .40, to my eye.

Good morning to all and Happy Easter.
The engine in the photo belongs to a series produced in the first half of the 1960s. The series included a .40 Rat Racer, a .40 .46. and .51 with 2 rings. Attached is the scan of the advertising sheet of the time.
I have no idea what the suction and discharge times of the .46 are, so I don't know if it can be used in stunt.

Thanks Massimo That engine was really popular here in the USA as a G-40, They used it in R/C Pylon racer, in 40 size only . That was the displacement limit. That engine also used the ABC version of loop charging, and ST called it airfoil porting, 2 intake ports 1 exhaust
