I have a Super Tigre 60 powered Urtnowski Tsunami and after 18 years of sitting there I would like to fly it again. Can't remember what fuel or prop I was using.
It was run on 10% nitro and a wood prop, that's all I remember, and it's a Randy Smith ST 60 engine, Tongue muffler with less than 20 flights on it. Would appreciate hearing suggestions on prop diameter, pitch, and oil percentages. I'm sure the prop would be a rev up 13x5 or 6, the fuel 22% half castor half synthetic???

Hi Kevin,
From flying with Windy, we still use Powermaster 10/22 with good success. Props used include 12/5, 12/6, 13/5, 13/6...and both wood and composite will work fine. Windy said grab a handful of props, try ‘em out. Keep a record of what works.

O.K. thats a picture .
Was a pile of ' 90 ' C F 4 blade etc , ex Urtnowski , on classifieds , a while back .
THINNED & whittled , and tarted up , they spin with less load . The top Flight etc lumber .
Useing a virneer to run along length , if youve scrawled some referance lines spanwise to chew back to , use a bastard file for reshaping .
If you repeatadly swap ends Ea 4 or 6 strokes , keeping the same angle & pressure , they cut in even .
The beech ' rainbow ' props are soft , narrowed one ( as they seem to get awfull tourgue swing in corners )
Laying out another 13 inch to narrow semi Folkerts scale like , to try on a FSR 45 in the Folkerts . Semi symetrical lowering the pitch .
Theyve used 4 & 5 pitch on L Js , As youre motor frees off , itll be happier on more prop . But dont overload/ overheat it .
hence the ' word or two ' on THINNING .

Youll get massive torrque reaction on a heavy / bulky prop , gotta Rabe Rudder hooked up ? .

HI Kevin
I used 23% oil half castor in the ST60, that is a very good blend to use, As far as nitro, we used 5% in cool months, upping to 10% in hotter summer months, a 13 x 6 prop is the go to one to start with, The ST 60 like a 4cycle run with 2 cycle across the tops of maneuvers, They will also last longer with this type run. Stay away from having to run them harder, The ST 60 beats itself to death if ran too hard. Otherwise you will have a great motor for a long time.
I also have a hand laid Bolly clone 13 x 5.5 that is excellent for the ST 60, or other ones like it, Bill Suarez and several other pilots used this same prop on their ST 60s, as well as many that ran my ST60s And this Carbon prop will out perform any of the wood props you are told about
