Got a new CF pipe for the PA .75. When I pulled it out of the box, a chip of epoxy fell out of the fillet from the aluminum/CF joint. <See Picture>
Plan is to fix this myself with regular JB Weld, i.e., not the "quick" version. Is there any prep I need to do on the surfaces, prior to mixing up the JB Weld?
Steve
Hi Steve
Just clean it with acetone then scuff it and use the JB weld, If you like you can cut up tiny pieces of CF and mix in the JB Weld, or you can just leave it alone, I only put the epoxy lip there as a double seal, It will make no differance in the way it performs or the way it runs or last, The epoxy is full strenght in the inside of the al cone, all along the entire al. and CF.
I have never seen a piece break like that, It must have taken a huge hit to that part of the pipe.
