Has anyone tried doing it? Also interesting stalkers with pipe.

A lot of people use a G51 Super Tiger piped, so I see no reason a GS series would not work

I remember a guy named Ed from Oldsmar Fl who ran the GS/40 with a pipe in a Juno. It ran well till the motors rod went.
He used the setup from one of Randy Smith 40's. The GS/40 motor may not last at High RPM.I believe the setting was around 11-12,000 rpm

Pretty Sure the rods are pretty much all the same , 16.000 rpm R/C thingos .
Have the timing figures written down , will put them here in a day or two .
The 40 has the biggest variation transfer to exhaust . the 45 ABC looks good ( non Piped )
yet to nail it in the test bed . and the softer chinese 40 ring broke in a laps , or twist . >:(
Como 40 & 51 have the same bolt pattern , but ' shorter nose ' , shave the lugs narrower & stack to clear mounting bolts / screwdriver .
Ive got the ringed baffled Comos , later Schneurle seem where ST development proceeded thru ' S ' to ' G ' ( & GS )
Sort of the Lineiage , thru from the olde 60s g 40/46/51 of the 60s , most internal dimensions carried thru .

My GS was a very heavily used RC motor when I tried it. It had great compression but was loose in the rod to piston area. I Put the GS in a old Juno and it was very nose heavy. The GS is four ounces heaver than the ST/46. Bill Rich gave me the pipe set up to fool around with. I was going to put the set up in a SV/11 but went with a ST/56 as that is what I had. The GS did run very well. Back then pipe set ups were running faster than now.
Matt I did use the Como 40 &45 also with muffler. They needed a slight sleeve rework to get the most out of them. Tom Dixon use to sell the Come reworked and they ran well. The early crossport motor was a nice motor also.

I put the book where i could find it easily ; in the draw . :(
got
GS 45 It. 40 china G 51 It.( C.L. )
Ex 73 ( 146 ) 74 ( 148 ) 68 ( 136 .
Tr. 60 ( 120 ) 56 ( 112 ) 58 ( 116 )
Bt. 58 ( 116 ) 56 ( 112 ) 58 ( 112 )
io 44 ic 47 44 - 46 47 - 47
so crank timings pretty much the same , sleeve set ups not .
Dunno how the Blow Down relates to the stunt pipe use ,
The 40 has the most , the G 51 R/C would have more than the C/L ! maybe better than C/L , when both piped ? .
The OS 40 / 46 VFs run about 140 Ex 120 Trans , as incidently My Silver Head ( Early ) X 45 Chrome/ ringed sucker .
The X 45 has long nose 21/46 bolt pattern NOT G Series mount .
Other X 45s have a bit , and much on flat head , higher sleeve timing .
The Como & G have same mount tho Comos shorter nose , theres two series Como post baffled ring ,
some 40 baffle are ABC , stamped on lug. Schnurle are truncated block / Flat Head .
You had me thinking of ' G ' crank swaps for timing / displacement changes . Shorter Stroke lowering port timing & V.c.V.
