Title: Square head magnum XLS 36
Post by: Gordon Tarbell on November 21, 2015, 10:41:13 AM
How close will this come to Aero tigre 36 performance? I have two that I acquired , both equipped with super tiger type needle valves, plastic venturi and cast mufflers with lots of lengthwise fins. need a couple of parts for one. The other looks new.

Hi Gordon
I have built 100s of both engine, the Mag36 in a 2 cycle ,will come close to the power of an AeroTiger in a 4 cycle , you  will need to run it in a 2 cycle
But as far as quality of run and range of settings it is not close. The Aero Tiger has far more torque, and tune-ability

Thanks Randy, do you have parts for the 36 XLS I need one back plate allen screw and the hard steel washer that goes between the aluminum propdriver hub and the shielded brg. to make this one complete. I have what appears to be an Aero tigre 36(has aero inscribed on side of head but has cast underneath exhaust thunder tiger with the word PRO on the left side.)on a modified Imitation and it flies it nicely, so was hoping these magnums might be in same class.
