How much fuel for ST46
« on: October 10, 2012, 08:26:57 PM »
How much fuel does a typical ST46 use? I'm trying to figure out how much of a fuel tank do I need. Is 4.5oz enough?

I used 5.5 ounces in mine, as did many others, it will somewhat depend on plane size and how much power you will need

I am using a 5.5s tank on my Vector and running a slow 2-4 break with an APC 11/6 prop and I have plenty of room for the pattern. It will also be about right for the 11/5. Good cobination but like the Stalker much better. HB~> HB~> HB~>

4.5 is just barely adequate for midwest summer, stock venturi, 5% nitro, and a good ring fit. Sea level, 10%, .173 venturi, and a good ring is something like 5.5. I have run configurations that were well up over 6 oz. I would suggest at least 6 and leave room for 7.

Yep, I have friends that use 6oz in their Tigre 46's here in OZ and that is with drawing some out after fueling- so 7 oz does seem to be a realistic size.

Well, if you are going to try to compete with an ST46 today, you are likely going to need a lot of nitro (at least 15 and maybe 20), and that's going to take a lot of capacity.
