I am looking for someone to make a Venturi for my RC Wasp 061. Any help is appreciated !

RK,

Any respectable machinist should be able to turn a collar to fit the Cox Tee Dee .049 venturi. It should be threaded inside for the Cox venturi, and a snug fit in the Wasp carb opening. Simply JB Weld into the Wasp carb opening.

Mine works perfectly, and has been run a half dozen times or more. Parts must be cleaned with a good solvent (Acetone) before using the JB Weld.

The Tee Dee venturi is available from Cox International in Canada, and is threaded the same (1/4-32") as a standard glow plug.

Thanks Bill, That's a great idea, I"ll check with Scott Riese in Portland! He just made a venturi for my Fox 40!

At Larry Renger's suggestion, I'm having some adapters made to use the TD 049/051 venturi, using a fine thread NVA.  I've ordered a couple of venturis from Cox International.....one in anodized red!

I have a simple drawing for the adapter, in .pdf, presumably attached!  In any case, the o.d. of the adapter is .275" to fit the 7mm bore in the Wasp.  The 1/4-32 thread takes a #3 drill (.213) for the pilot hole.  A small shallow flange on the adapter is probably beneficial for location...maybe .020-.030 thick

The overall depth of the adapter is .200.  This is a little piece....don't lose it!

If anyone wants to use the drawing (AutoCad derived, converted to .pdf.), please feel free to use it!

Mine have no flange, but yours should be more durable with that extra surface area for the adhesive.

Put me down for one or two please, and let me know the price.

How much clearance should there be between crankshaft and case on an AP Wasp .061?
