SH engines - gasoline
« on: September 13, 2021, 09:02:47 AM »
Guys,
I came across this on facebook and though it might be of interest. There is a guy who sells the SH line of engines, (https://www.mikegoesflying.com/product-category/engine-accessories/glow-plugs/). They have a 32 size engine that run gasoline/oil using a special type glow plug. I don't know if there is anything special in the engine design (compression, head design, port timing) that allows it to run gasoline. I'm thinking it is mostly the plug that does it but likely also some compression too. I wonder it some of the older ignition designs would work with this plug or even some higher compression glow engines? Seems that if you could get a reliable 2-2-2 run on gasoline/oil it could work and reduce fuel cost considerably. Check it out, gasoline plugs are around $10.

Best,   DennisT
