Title: Saito 30 prop choice
Post by: Gordon Tarbell on August 05, 2007, 10:52:56 PM
Would a master airscrew 10-7 3blade be a good starting place for the saito 30 on the primary force arf. I will start with 10-22 fuel (50-50) .

Hi, Gordon - although I have not tried the prop in question, It sounds like it may be a bit much but, I suggest you give it a try.

I have been experimenting with the SAITO .30 for the last 7 or 8 years and tried quite a few different props.

To date, I have used this little jewel to power a Nobler, Sterling Mustang, Ringmaster, ARF Cardinal, Little Cherokee, Argus and The Plane. I have tried props from 9-6 up to 11-5, just about every brand and material - EXCEPT carbon fiber.

The two that have given the consistently best results are the Master Airscrew 9 1/2-6 and the APC same size.

The APC seems to have a performance edge (pun intended - be carefull).

The Argus with the SAITO .30, 9 1/2-6 APC and Eagle-Hopper tank is my all-time favorite stunt setup.
