Would I be able to use a Fox 25 (or29) piston as replacement for my late 60s Fox 29X. - I know they all use a 0.738" bore and am assuming the pistons are identical.
It is going to be much easier to pick up a secndhand 25 off ebay than another 29X!
I am aware of the cutout on the crankside of the skirt, and the slightly different deflector.
Anyone any ideas?

Tim,
Why not get a new piston made and the cylinder honed to suit? A check of the local CL racing scene should show locals who can and will do this kind of work without having to mortgage the house.
That will bring the PL fit back to as new. I'm assuming that the bottom end is in good shape.

I was gonna go down that route as I know Tony Eifflaender (PAW Diesels). - They only do work on their own engines though!
The bottom ends ok (albeit a little sloppy), only real problem with this motor is the needle roller supporting the crankshaft is seized. It's a press fit unfortunately so I can't get it out without damaging something.
I've bid on a 25 off ebay, so if its the correct bore it should work.
Thanks for the advice anyway Greg.
