I've been running a Stalker 51 RE with various props. So far, the best overall line tension is with a 12-6 Evolution. Most wood props have been disappointing. Haven't put a tach on the Evo prop, but it seems to be higher RPM than I would expect. (I think the Stalker is happiest somewhere about 8K RPM?).
So I was considering a 13" or maybe cut down to 12 1/2" to provide more engine load. Since this is only a 51, maybe the larger prop isn't the way to go. But I'm open to suggestions!

Hi Floyd, I like you have found the Evo 12 X 6 to be a great prop on the Stalker .51. ~>I launch mine at 7700 to 7900, depending on the heat of the day.
I haven't used a larger prop, like the Evo 13 X 6, but I have used the 11 X 6. If memory is right, I launched at about the same rpm.
I hope this helps you out.

Shades of Bob Hunt's 40 FSR Genisis.
11 x 6 three blade E.W.s ( extra wide )
You could cut em out of anything bigger.
Retro Discoverys run about the same blade area as TWO Zinger 11 x 5 s !
With a steel pin thu the center for masking out with the straight edge ,
A Virneer to ensure symetry of dimensions at all stages , one can go to
town ( Note NOT City ! ? ) .
Loosing say 1/4 in of the T.E. gives the option of increasing pitch if
the top rear of blades is accousted.
Opp. if under.
Thicker blades to load it ,or remove top or bottom to thin.
Tricks to get all PARRALLEL LINES , virneers used as stop or catch at ends .
Another or a piece of hard this or that at Cr. to space it off.
Enginners files cut clean, same no of striokes @ same pressure ( V little )
AND angle/s Ea side.So it helps to be able to get around it . clamped flat.
One can get all creative and intuitive.
Pitch gauge is largely irelevant at this stage .
May be usefull to measure the better efforts .
Thats why we kept a step by step record of cuts in the note book (? ).
Id leave the ends on till its done. Good end grips / holds .

Floyd,
I know that you said you have not liked the wood props so far, but have you had a chance to try the Master Airscrew wood 12x6? Not too sure if they are still made or not, but I bought one from the LHS and picked up a spare at a swap meet. I have been using one on my Stalker in a 59oz SV-11 with decent results for a while now. Launch speeds are in the 8.1K range.

I remember seeing Master Airscrew wood props in the Tower web catalog. If I ever need anything from Tower, I'll include some Master Airscrew wood props.
I like RSM props for just about everything else. I haven't tred a 12" RSM on the Stalker, but that's another option.

I found Evo props act like the pitch was lower than what is marked, more RPM for the same lap times as compaired to a measured Rev-Up or Thunder Tiger.. Thunder Tiger props are really good, I'm running a 12.5 X 5.5 on my Stalker 61.

I am runnin my Stalker 40 on 5% cool Power and it seems to work good Factory setup for bench running.
