I just received the PA NVA for my Brodak 40. I have several questions. In the installation does the part where the needle goes in need to tightened or loosened or is that a matter of experimentation? I have one on a Fox 35 that I recently had to tighten. Is that part called the "collet"?
For those of you who have it on the B-40, approximately how many turns open does it need to be to get close to the setting?

HI Allen,
The "collet" does not have to be real tight. The nylon (or something like that) cone inside of it seals the needle to prevent air leaks and it just needs to be tight enough to hold the needle in place. Not much more than finger tight. Not nearly as tight as the ST NVAs have to be.
Open about 4 turns or so to start, then find the right setting.

Technically, the "collet" would be the plastic cone, and the nut would be called the "collet nut". Yes, adjust as needed.
Isn't it cool that you don't have to loosen the collet nut or remove the NV to remove the spraybar? I would highly suggest slacking off the collet nut if you pull the NV out of the spraybar to blast out some chit. y1 Steve
