Title: OS20FP: Iron Piston vs ABC Version
Post by: Kim Mortimore on October 05, 2009, 11:52:04 AM

I'm installing an OS20FP in an Old Time plane, and I just discovered that my NIB 20 has an iron piston.

The plane is a bit nose-heavy and I need the lightest (also the best performing) setup I can get.

Does anyone know if the iron-piston version is heavier than the ABC?  Also how they compare for performance and vibration?

Thanks,
Kim Mortimore

The iron version is lighter. Weight New engines, without muffler, with RC carb Iron = 198 g     Alum = 201 g
