Title: OS thrust washer
Post by: Terry Bolin on November 04, 2006, 05:32:55 PM
I am breaking down a OS40 SF for a good friend of mine and I am down to the crankcase and crankshaft. My question is : does the thrust washer just press of with a puller like it looks like. Looks to be a tapered seat. Has anyone been here before?
Thanks, Terry

The answer is yes. You can probably get a puller from Tower or maybe from a local friend. If not I think I have one you can borrow.

It is a  pressed fit , it has a  tapered collet  and drive washer, it presses on when you tighten the props and  takes  a  puller  to get it off.
OS MAX  makes a puller for their engines  and  you can get them from tower, or you can use a  small  gear puller

Central Hobbies sells a puller, which is actually a slightly modified battery terminal puller, for about $10.
