Title: OS Needle valves
Post by: ray copeland on April 02, 2019, 05:49:05 PM
Is there a drop in replacement for the hard to find, OS .25 and .46 needle valves? I have several engines that I really do not want to drill the crankcase or use the backplate needle with. Brodak .40 states that it fits la46 but it is .157 in diameter and my OS parts measure .137. If anyone has original size OS needle valves to sell I would be interested in a few or if anyone makes one I would like to purchase a few. I have used a couple of Randy's and they work great but I would like to get away from drilling the crankcase. Thanks, Ray

Hello Ray, Bob Brooks who sells on Ebay carries the needle valves your seeking. 954-234-0863. He's the fellow on Ebay who you see carrying the Enya parts. My last purchase from him he left me his business card with a note on the back that OS parts are added to the store. Just be warned that they're no longer at Tower Hobby prices. Mike Londke had posted a site which was direct from Japan. I believe this is it https://www.rcjapan.net/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=80   I also believe there's a fee associated with the money conversion when purchasing.

Kenneth, thanks for the tip on Bob Brooks!! He is out of the original parts but he had Enya make him a big batch to fit OS 20-46 and 15 size crankcase. They will be available on his ebay site in a few days and he wanted me to get the word out. RcJapan is out!  Thanks again,  Ray

These are the same as the original (3.5mm/.137")? If so, good on him.

JFI

The  LA  25 and  OS LA 15  are  not the  same  NVA  and  not  the  same  size

Randy, I guess I did not post correctly. He has replacements for "both" the 25-46 and the 15.

Hi Ray
Good to hear. The 15 is not in great demand , but many people want the 25 needle  assembly

Regards
Randy

The OS 15 needles have a stepped down diameter within the Venturi. The spraybar diameter at the ends appears to match diameter of Fp20-40 needle valves. Diameter inside the Venturi is reduced.

Hi ray

So his  15 needle  is  even smaller  diameter  than the  20 needle ?
