Hi guys and greetings from a sunny [ at last ! ] Charente.
Can anyone shed any light on an OS MAX H - 35 please ?
Never come across this 'varient ' before .....Any good for us stunt devotees ?
Much obliged as ever for any contributions ,

I'm pretty sure the H series .35 is more of a combat engine.

I have two of them, well almost two, one's missing a conrod. Cast iron piston and only a single rear ballrace same as nearly all the early H-40's. I must admit I've never run them, and in fact can't even remember where I got them from, but the complete engine seems to be in excellent condition. About all I can do is to give the port timings a check and compare them to my H-40S which might give some idea of how it'd work for stunt. Being it's nearly midnight that could be a job for tomorrow :).

A 60's engine . Most of mine were 35C style and I still have one or two. Parts are tough to get and I rebuilt my last one with parts from England. Like the 40H the screws and gaskets are non standard so don't lose any of the screws.
As to running they wern't bad but never achieved the status of the ST35.

Well I finally got around to checking my H-35 (not the C version which I think might have "C" under the 35 on the crankcase). Exhaust opens at 64BBDC and transfer opens at 50BBDC. On the crankshaft the inlet opens at 42BTDC and closes at 46ATDC. For comparison, the figures for the H-40S are exhaust 70, transfer 58, inlet opens 40 and closes at 34.
Crankshaft timings tend to vary wildly between similar engines so I don't take much notice of them but with the port timings the nearest to the H-35 would be the Merco 35 at 65/55, Fox 35 at 67/55, Enya 35BB at 64/52.
So although the H-35 has a slightly longer blow down period than most the actual figures seem to be well within what's normal for a stunt type run.
