Title: OS FP .20 / .25 rework ?
Post by: Rob Killick on March 29, 2006, 03:26:53 PM
HI ,

I have an OS FP .20 and .25 (both RC) engines and was wondering if they can be reworked into decent C/L motors ?
Any ideas who might be able to do the work ?
Thanks :)

The reason for their popularity is they don't need any rework.  Attempting to make them run a 4-2-4 stunt run isn't worth the trouble, but they do fine set to a high rpm low pitch configuration.

Read up on the 20 FP config, its around here somewhere.  The 25 works about the same but makes more power, can turn a larger prop, and may be more prone to running away.

Click this link:

Then click on the "FP.20zip" file that is listed on the bottom of the left hand colum.

That artical will tell you everything you could ever want to know about the FP20, how to set it up and then some.
Great artical!

Hi Rob,

I can that the FP 20 with the BBTU does work "as advertised".  Box stock so to speak (OS NVA and Venturi), 9-4 APC prop, 5%-10% nitro-1/2 and 1/2 oil blend.   About 11,000 at launch (a "wet 2").

The FP 25 runs very similar, but is a little bit more touchy.  For whatever reason, both do better if they are the latter ABN versoins, but I have also ran an iron/steel 20FP and it was very close.
