Omega (Morgan) offers a 10% nitro 11/11 mix fuel for control line . I never have used this and wonder what your experience is with this product.
Most of the time Brodak 40's and LA 46's would be run . The local hobby shop carries Omega and would probably order some if I want a case or two .

Brad, I burn Omega 25% in my 1/2a's for years and it works great. Not a 11/11 blend but it is good fuel. I would give it a try, if it was local I would try it.

Several years ago the Central Alabama Stunt Squadron worked with Morgan to develop a fuel that would work for CLPA use.
The fuel that you mentioned is the result of that project and is mixed to give the correct proportions of oil vs. methanol vs. nitro.
Morgan Fuels donated several cases of quart containers of this fuel to our club, to be given to those who entered the CL contests that we were holding at Clanton, AL during this time.
I was personally involved in this project and spoke to many of those who received free fuel at our events (and to many who purchased this fuel in larger containers), asking them to rate the Morgan fuel performance relative to whatever they had been using. That has been several years ago but I can't remember a single negative reply about the Morgan fuel.
Give it a shot, I think you will be pleased.

I though Morgan had discontinued the cl blend ?
-
Morgan still showed it as of yesterday on its website. I understand that it doesn't mean that they still offer it.
Thanks for the testimonies of the fuel . I will try a case if it is available.

Tower Hobbies sells it and it is good stuff. Kind of expensive at $8 a quart though. I have switched to regular Omega 15% RC Fuel in gallons, I get it through the club I'm in for $15 a gallon. I pour it into quart bottles and add 2 oz of castor a quart, and can't tell the difference between that and the CL fuel. Works great.
-
I just now spoke with the nice lady at Morgan Fuels.
The CL blend is available and may be ordered by you local hobby shop. It is available in quart or gallon containers.
Also, it may be ordered directly from Morgan Fuels or it may be picked up at the plant, with 24 hour notice.

Disclaimer: I have no financial connection with Morgan Fuels:)

Problem was that LHS gets fuel from a hobby distributor, not direct from Morgan. I remember now that is was my LHS that told me they couldn't get it anymore because their distributor stopped carrying it based on low sales volume. That caused me to find another option but do remember that it worked fine in several stunt motors while I was using it. Probably went thru 3-4 gallons.

I started using it last year when I saw it at Tower Hobbies with free shipping and yes it works very well. After a trail quart bought 4 gallons.

Just for clarification,
I just now spoke with Morgan Fuel and they confirmed to me that they do sell direct to local hobby shops, to distributors and direct to consumers.

Is this the same Cool Power pink stuff? I burned up a number of engines with this stuff and had runaway problems galore.
-
Some one can correct me here if wrong, but cool.power is usually but not always green, and is all synthetic fuel. Not only is it synth, but low volume of synth. Omega is a synth/ castor oil blend..
Omega ran fine in modern engines for me with an ounce or two of Aero One added... needs some more doctoring to use in certain old plain bearing engines known to run away. I certainly could live with it if it was all I could get.
If you are prone to tank problems or dirt in your fuel system, I think any fuel could potentially let you down after several sagging lean overheated run incidents. On the other hand, I think the reverse is almost equally true, "almost" any reasonable fuel formula made for CL use that is ran in nice steady stunt runs scenario will do fine. Sure, some will give better or worse run characteristics but most will get the basic job done. The harsher the environment the more critial it gets.

I relented my effort to have the local hobby shop order some of this fuel . The owner didn't seem too eager after the importer didn't stock it.
Luckily we made it to the Toledo show this spring and we stocked up on Richs Brew . This is the best way for us as driving to Toledo is 2.5 hours away. Getting a dozen cases of fuel thru customs can be "interesting " . Much cheaper than LHS prices.

Hi Eric
Yes Cool Power is green and 14.7 percent oil , all Synth, Omega used to be pink with 14.7% total oil , with 2% castor , From what I understand the have boosted the castor content and total oil content in the CL version of Omega, I have not done a boil down test on it yet, but they normally mix fuel by weight , and not volume, maybe some of the Alabama guys knows the oil content

BLEND NITRO LUBE LUBE PKG
Omega Control Line 10% 22% 50% Castor & 50% Synthetic Blend
per the Morgan Web site blend is the above: if made by weight the oil content is going to be down near 17 to 18 % oil
Should be good for modern ball bearing engines, OS LA types with larger bushings and bushed rods, Keep it OUT of Fox 35s and OS 35S type older engines. Or add 9 to 10 ounces of castor to a gallon
and it is if made by weight , figure its really 7 to 8% nitro / 17 to 18% oil
The good part is they are very Large company, and they made a huge amount of the markets fuel! so they should alway be around, and the fuel should be consistant

On the bottle it says it is mixed by volume, not weight.

ALL of the other Morgan fuels are mixed by weight , so if that one fuel is mixed by volume, and only that one fuel, then that is great for us , that way we get a true 22% oil , but the only way to tell for sure is to do a boil down test on it.

Randy, I'm pretty sure that after they made it for a control line club and then donated a bunch of it to that club, they wouldn't lie about it on the bottle. But you go ahead and boil it down LOL

Where did I say they lied about the Control Line fuel ?? why do you try to insinuate things I never said ?
by the way I have boiled down many batches of their fuel, and NONE of it was as claimed ALL the 18% Cool Power was 14.7 percent oil

Take a deep breath and chill Randy, I never said that... You're the expert not me.

I am just fine, no problems here, I do want people to know what they are putting in their engines, as I have seen Fox 35s, and OS 35s wiped out from 1 run on Cool Power and Omega.
Now if they are making Omega with 22% oil rather than the 14.7 is was, Then I am happy , and will encourage people to try it, and if it has changed to Full 22% oil and full 10 % nitro by volume then we owe them gratitude and should support Morgan fuels.
Netherless I stick by the way to tell is to test it, no sense in killing engines to test fuel
So bottom line run what you want, just make sure you know what it is

SIG Champion 10 and 15 seemed to work well for me, but I wonder now if when I get the Pathfinder finally finished and the VF46 installed if I should still run the SIG Champion fuel in it. It is 50% castor.

Sig Champion will work fine, but will kill plugs faster, and varnish more, I buy SIG Champ and SIG 4 stroke all synthetic fuel and mix it half and half, that way it 1/4 castor , and does not grow taters like heavy castor does, and keeps the engine cleaner

Thanks Randy for the suggestion, I will do just that 50/50 SIG champ 10 and SIG 4 stroke. Easy to measure out and mix :)

Use Powermaster 10% "Air" - it doesn't kill plugs at all.
