What kind of oil is After Run Oil?  What oil could I buy in larger quantities to use for "after run oil"?

I have used various brand air-tool oils for a long time - Sta-Lube and Marvel Air Tool oil (not Marvel Mystery Oil). But. to be honest, lots of times I just don't bother, and have had zero issues with rust or gumming up over the years.

     Hi Allen:

I have used Air Tool oil but I prefer ATF.  Pete does not use any and you have seen how well his engines run!

Whatever you do, do not use WD 40!

      See you at the field!

I presume ATF stands for automatic Transmission Fluid.

Yes. ATF and air tool oil are similar. Both are blended to cling to whatever they come in contact with, and both have rust inhibitors in them. You can also mix ATF with acetone 50/50 to make a really good penetrating oil also. Another reason to have a quart bottle of cheap stuff on hand.
   Type at you later,

Thanks for these helpful responses.  I don't use after run oil much but there is a fellow modeler who thinks I ought to.  I had two small after run bottles but seem to have misplaced them.  Then, while thinking about that, I opened a box that had a quart of ATF oil in.  I may just use that the after run oil I have ordered doesn't come.

Half the ' R. C. ' motors picked up second had , apparently have just been ' parked ' .

Horrendous rot rust & suchlike . Shot bearings , gookey shaft & immoveable wrist pin .

Between flights , afterun oil , sure . for STORAGE , flush out the NITRO RESIDUE , then oil .
