Hello All:
I am looking for mufflers to be used on the old O.S..40S engines. I think that they were a model 704 from O.S.
Anybody have mufflers for sale that will fit these old O.S. engines?
Tia,

Is this the baffled piston ball bearing "H.40" series? There were S, P and R/C versions, IIRC. There was also an official OS .40FP-S, hence my confusion. If it's the .40FP-S, anything that fits a .35FP, .40FP, .40LA or .46LA will work. Otherwise, I'd talk to Randy Smith after the NATS, and see what he can suggest. I really like his CNC tube muffler...but I drill and tap them for pressure, usually. H^^ Steve

I think the Jetstream muffler was primarily for the OS 35S and the OS 30S. Which were nice engines before OS came out with the H model series and then the FP series. The Jetstream bolted inside the exhaust stack. It is light and is an effective muffler.
I really do not know what the OS 40S is.

Frank,
I have some, I'll take a look.
Footprint has to match up.

Frank, if you register on the RC Groups.com forum and post a WTB there, you'll probably get several offers. A 703 muffler with strap just sold for $8. I picked one up there for $10 a month ago. That form is a great place to find old engines and parts.
Another option is buy just the strap, and it can be the OS or the Enya. I prefer the Enya because it uses the existing holes on a muffler while the OS requires a tapped hole on the side. Then buy a tongue muffler. To get the right tongue muffler, get the dimensions of the exhaust port width and you can figure out which Brodak muffler will work. I have the hole spacing on all their mufflers.

Frank: If you post the exact center-to-center distance, I can tell you if there is a Brodak muffler that will fit.

Mac's makes a strap on muffler that fits perfect , I have an Rsm tongue on another one that is drilled through the case for bolts.T.J.
