Title: New Enya SS35S bench run
Post by: Leo Mehl on March 20, 2008, 05:13:05 PM
My new Enya 35 from Randy really runs nice on the bench. Smooth run and good 2-4 switch on the bench. I was mostly impressed by its size. Not much bigger than the SS25. Just right for a lot of stunters. y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 HB~>

More! More!

Tell us more!

The SS35 - what fuel and prop? Is it an ABC/A?C or iron in steel? RPM?

('Smooth' suggests lighter metal uppers. 4/2 suggests port timing well suited for CLPA.)

Thanks, and waiting for MORE! MORE!

The ferrous (iron/steel) ENYAs last forever plus. I still use one I bought in 1957; it may be broken-in about now. ...Wonder how long it takes the modern metals to break-in, and how long they last, for a comparison. Should be good, if it's an ENYA...

HI Lou

The 35SS Enya is a step up from the 25 and 30SS it has  dual ball bearings and a  ringed alum piston, nice motor, and a good strong 35 stunt engine

Ran good on 10-25 Sig fuel with Thunderbold Plug Steel liner an aluminum piston with ring. It is a good setup with. not much vibration because of ball bearings and aluminum piston. I also like its weight of 7.8 ounces. I am looking forward to putting this in a good classic plane like the Nobler or a Ruffy. Another feature about Enyas these days is there muffler fits the xz40 the 25 and the 35. y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 HB~>

Is this the engine that is going in the Arctic Fox? I think the 35 will go on the same mounts, but would have to check with Randy. <= <= <=

Thats the one Leo. When we get some good weather I'll put it on the test stand. I take it you were running all castor on the 35 ?

Yes,all caster. I think they make the 30 also as a ABC. If yours is steel liner run caster. I am also running my 25 on all caster. For sure it has steel liner. My 5224 35 and 29 also all caster. My 40xz caser synthetic blend.
