Title: Need good wood props ?
Post by: Rob Killick on July 17, 2007, 07:03:10 AM
Hi ,

After I break in my Brodak .25 , I need help choosing a good wooden prop for it and my Brodak "FancyPants".
I don't have an all-up weight for the ship , so I hope this doesn't cause a problem in selecting a prop for it ?

Thanks in advance  ;D

Rob, I have found on my Barnstormer with OS25LA that a Zinger 9x5 works great for my combination. Good as any place to strart. 9x6, 9x4 will also work depending on all your planes fuel, weight, and altitude that you fly at.
I'd get what ever is avaliable the quickest, and quickly go flyin.
Have fun, working out the right prop is part of trimming a plane.

Hi Rob,

On the Flite Streak ARF/Brodak 25 combo, I used an APC 9x5 with good results.  The APC brand was used to avoid adding nose weight.

The 9x5 Zinger should be fine.

Rob:
You said wood props?  I've had nothing but great luck with Top Flite PowerPoints - I'd suggest a 9-5 for the B.25 & SC.  I am running that prop on my SC now...

Also agree that you could try a 9-4, 9-6 or even a 10-4 depending on what you are looking to achieve...
