Hi All:

        I am attempting to remove the rear ball bearing that appears to be stuck to the crankshaft.  How do I do this since there is no space between the bearing and the crank disk for a puller etc.? I did apply heat and attempted to work a thin tool between the outer bearing retainer and the crank disk, not the best way, there was no movement.  I did crock pot the parts prior to attempting this task. Is a very small bearing splitter available for this task?

        Suggestions/cpmments?

Technically , there IS a GAP .



Thisis whatyou need , more or less .

But Coles here Steak knife sets , are good for opening cans of beans and other things .

One Ea Side , tapping in evenly ,  or just go around with one . Heat & Gloves .

You cout ding / put a  stress raiser on a unhardened crank with a knife / chisel edge & hammer .
Support the thing so you NOT bending it . I.E. a piece of hardwood under shaft so it sits flat on the bench while you abuse it .

     I have decided that the bearing is in good enough shape to be run.  It was stuck with dried castor oil but has since been cleaned.  It now sounds and feels good.
