Title: Muffler screws for a .25 FP
Post by: John Castle on March 04, 2010, 09:14:01 AM
Does any body know what size the muffler screws are for an os .25 FP. I would like to replace the stock slotted ones with allen head screws. Any ideas on where to get the allen screws would be great.

Thanks,
John

John   I just retapped the muffler for 4-40 threads and used regular allen head bolts.  Georg Waters

John:
I am not sure about muffler screws for the 25 FP but I do know that the muffler screws for the Enya 25 are M3 x 25.  I would not be terribly surprised if they were the same.  Take your muffler with you to your local hardware store and give one a try.  Also, my hobby shop has a good Dubro display of metric parts and I found M3 x 30s there.

Tower's web site says they are M3x27mm.  I use either 25mm or 30mm length, don't remember which. You should be able to get them at a well stocked hardware store.

Thanks for the help. I guess it's time for a trip to the hardware store.

While you're at it, replace any other phillips, slotted or Japan standard fasteners with Allen head cap screws.  It won't get any easier when they sieze up.
