I have three new older Enya engines that I have never run. I am getting back into the hobby
after many years and need to see if I can find mufflers for these engines. The paper work
for each engine indicates the factory muffler is a M-200. Is this muffler still available? If so
where can I purchase them? Are they strap on mufflers? The 6001 and 6002 look they they
need holes for the muffler drilled and tapped. There are only pilot holes on these two motors.
The 5224 looks like the holes are drilled and tapped from the factory but not sure what size
they are.
I would much prefer a tongue style muffler but have not been able to find tongue mufflers
specifically for these motors. Maybe I am just not looking in the right e-place.
I would appreciate any help and input anyone might have.
Thank very much,
Bruce

First, I'd consult with Randy Smith, our moderator. I suspect that a ST sized muffler will fit, tho I have no idea why anybody would want a tongue muffler. Randy's tube mufflers are about 1.5 oz and sound really nice. Drill out the outlet a bit and add a "rubber ducky" and you're golden. y1 Steve

You can get the standard muffler http://www.enya-engine.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_13&products_id=344 (http://www.enya-engine.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_13&products_id=344) or the silent muffler http://www.enya-engine.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=354 (http://www.enya-engine.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=354) direct from Enya. They list these as fitting both the 5224 and 6001/2 models.

Check with Randy and get some tongue mufflers. The 5224 with the dimples or any other Enya engine that you have is not a hard job to drill and tap to install them.
The stock mufflers are big and heavy and those with the slide to prime are not very effective, as in real loud,

Thank you all for the inputs. I am getting educated. I did contact Randy Smith this afternoon and he provided me great advise and direction.
Really a very nice gentleman as well. I enjoyed our conversation. Will be ordering tube mufflers based on his recommendations.
Thanks again,

Bruce,
I have the Enya 45 6001 and tested many mufflers on it. The old original muffler did not work well and even worst was the newer one they have now.
The best thing that worked for me was a discontinued Dubro Tongue muffler for 30 to 80 size engines. I bought 3 of them recently on Ebay. This particular muffler gave the Enya 45 6001 incredible performance and sound. They are much heavier then other tongue mufflers but in my case I need the extra weight and even if I had to put tail weight I'd still use them because of such great performance.

I should add this is not a regular tongue muffler, it has a spring across the exhaust that you can calibrate with more or less tension to adjust the back pressure, and I guess it vibrates and do some sort ot tuning with the engine.
