Has anyone found a good mini pipe rear exhaust muffler set up for the VF46? I have run this with a full pipe but would like to use a set up with a short RE muffler any options?
Best, Dennis

I have a rear muffler for my VF 40 that's going in my Formula S that Byron Barker made for me (got the idea from Allen Brickhaus). He made if from a header for the pipe.

Randy Smith might be able to help you as he makes them for all his other motors.

Randy Smith (a moderator and Aero Products has what you need! Either "header mufflers" (one piece) or can mufflers that attach to the Header (which are a little more quiet).

Hi Dennis
I think these maybe what you are looking for, I also make them for VF engines

Randy,
Is there any special mods needed on the VF's (40 or 46) such as adding head gaskets or changing venturi size from the full pipe setup to get this to work? Once set up for the 46 what would be a good starting setup for prop, venturi, head gaskets and fuel nitro.
Thanks, Dennis

Hi Dennis
The OS VF 46, works fairly close to the same using the slide on tube muffler, just add about 1/4 pitch up on the prop, if using the header muffler you typically need to add the 1/4 more pitch and go up a size on the venturie. you will not need to add a head shim.
WE use a 12.2 x 4.2 2 blade or a 12 x 4.25 3 blade on the 46, these run at about 4 1/2 on mufflers for the 46.
As alway you should use the amount of nitro that the engine need depending on the air conditions
