Post by: Allan Perret on October 09, 2017, 08:23:06 AM
Anyone have experience with this engine and know if it will run in a good 4-2-4 stunt run ?

Hi, Allan.
We used a few of these years ago - they were easy starting and very steady running but we could not get a 2-4-2 break with the engines in stock form but we never tried any modifications.
Maybe someone has some tips to get a better stunt run.

I have an original K&B 28 still NIB, and I would be interested in hearing how these MECOA engines run.

So they worked OK for stunt [or sport models] with a low pitch prop at higher RPM's ?

As I recall, we were using Master Airscrew black plastic props, 9-6.

allan,

Bob was under propping them. They like lumber and 10/5 is good and in R/c I have used 11 inch props on them. They are not a Fox 35. Nothing good that I know of wants to be a Fox 35
They do run well in a wet 2 cycle and once broken in are thrifty on fuel. use 5/22 Powermaster or equivalent do not use all castor like a Fox 35. That will only varnish the liner like it does to the Fox 35 and cause it to run hot just like the Fox.
