Title: McDaniel Ni-Starter vs K&B-1L Glow Plug
Post by: Peter in Fairfax, VA on October 05, 2021, 11:28:41 AM
FYI, all good, but a comment.

At first, my McDaniel Ni-Starter would not fit a K&B-1L plug.  Did not lock on.  However, after a quick consult with the factory, they advised checking the washer for belling.  In fact, the supplied washer was of poor quality.  With a decent washer, it works fine.

A few of the older plugs don't work well with the Ni starter.  I bought about a dozen Glow Devils from someone on Ebay a while back and the battery would simply not latch on.  Upon close inspection these were new, but older generation plugs that had the hex shank too long to engage.  I looked at my newer Glow Devil stock and the shank has been shortened.  The older plugs are relegated to profiles and maybe free flight where I can use the old clothes pin style battery leads on the power panel.
