Evolution 60NX RC
« on: April 19, 2015, 05:57:29 PM »
Is the evolution 60nx rc engine the same as the control line model except for the carb? If not can it be converted for a suitable stunt run?

The controlline version is 1 oz lighter and the liner has one less booster port. I never checked the timing as it is almost perfect for the task. Too bad Horizon is following all of the other outlets and dumping C/L engines simply because there is no sales volume to them. I bought 3 of them and still have 2 NIB and some spare parts. At the rate I'm flying they will outlive me in all probability. But that is not an offer to sell any of them at this time.

Horizon also lists an Evolution 61 NX RC, and it sells for $30 less than
the 60. Does anybody here know what the difference is between the
two; other than the obvious diplacement difference? I just looked at
the Horizon website and they still have the Evo 36 CL motor listed, but
they are shown on backorder.

They had the 60 on backorder and parts also  for what seemed like forever and then without warning pulled down the 60 page and discontinued it. They have said that they will be getting parts in for the 60's support but it has been months already and frankly their tardiness isn't impressing me too much. Lets hope that they are not planning the sudden demise of the 36 also.

Dennis sent you a private email about parts for the Evo 60 CL.

61 NX was their standard big case 61. The beauty of the 60 was that is was based on a 46 sized case, lighter, smaller, same bolt pattern as the OS 46SF and others. 8)

The R/C version has much higher timing, almost 160o total exhaust, way too high I am afraid!
