Title: Magnum GP 25
Post by: Allen Eshleman on June 15, 2022, 07:38:18 AM
Does anyone have a cheap viable solution for reviving a Magnum GP 25 with no compression.  Man, it has power if I can get it started.  Maybe be sold for parts.  However, I do want the venturi and NVA.

A piston and liner from the LA 25.

I had a GP 25 that would start and run happily in cold weather and never looked like starting when it was warm.

I replaced the piston and liner and the engine has been fine ever since.

It's been on a Ringmaster for quite a few years so, some years, it only gets one outing per year. I use auto transmission fluid as after run oil and it usually starts second or third flick after hanging on the wall for a year.

That sounds like an easy try.  I will try that.

If the LA25 fits you could get an ABC from Brian Garner. The LA factory sleeve is Ni, if you want to refurbish your P/L Just get a medium pinch from RayARacing.com   I have used him several times, he does nice work. Assuming the Magnum is ABC.

Be aware the GP has a sprinkler venturi/nva so it's not a direct plug and play to an OS FP...
