Thunder Tiger 36 R/C SCRIBED ' PG ' ?
« on: July 30, 2008, 12:28:03 PM »
I've just bought a Thunder Tiger 36 R/C off EBay.com which originated in California .

I'm converting it to C/L .

It's scribed under one of the engine bearers with the initials ' P G '.

Anyone out there with the initials PG know this engine maybe ? It was new  , well nearly new,  but in great shape.

Regards from the Charente , France from an ex-pat Brit .

Robin.

PG=pretty good  ;)

I can think about a particular PTG who is big in the Magnum 36 arena.

I think these letters are some sort of code to identify when an engine was made.

I have a few Magnum and Thunder Tiger GP 25s and GP 40s and some OS engines that all have letters stamped under one lug. Two TT GP25s bought from the same store at the same time have the same letters on the lug.

That's my theory.

Cheers, Geoff

Geoff is correct. Those are build date codes. Allows the manufacturer to verify origin and date put together. O S has been doing it for years.
